šŸ“Ā Recap

After 113 days of walking, itā€™s over. 113 days of walking across California, Oregon, and Washington ā€” through 5 national monuments, 5 state parks, 6 national parks, 25 national forests, and 48 wilderness areas. 113 days filled with more natural beauty than anyone deserves in a lifetime and more human kindness than I thought was possible.ā£

I walked through the green hills and dry deserts of Southern California, surviving wind and lightning storms and all the weird weather of the early summer.ā£

ā£

I walked through the Sierra Nevada in the highest snowpack in recent history, fording countless rivers and climbing tens of high mountain passes.ā£

ā£

I walked through the mountains and river valleys of Northern California, completing my first 50 mile day and enjoying views of Mt. Shasta for hundreds of miles.ā£

ā£

I walked through the mosquito-filled forests of Oregon, finding my love for wildflowers and volcanoes and growing to appreciate a change of pace.ā£

ā£

And finally, I walked through the craggy mountain ranges and wildflower-filled meadows of Washington, laughing and crying at the beauty of this trail and finding solace in my mind during long, grueling days.ā£

Iā€™m so grateful for the support and help I received along the way: the Trail Angelsā€™ generosity, my friends and family, and especially my hiking partners who became great friends ā€” @liam_hagerty and I walked together for the first half and @grizzly_hikes and @projectmove_ and I walked together for the last half. I canā€™t imagine the trail without you guys... itā€™s not very often you walk 1000 miles with someone šŸ¤Æ.ā£
